The Bureau of Disease Control and Prevention is responsible for data analysis, infectious disease surveillance, outbreak investigations and control, and special studies on public health issues. Maintains the Reportable Disease Surveillance System and administers the hepatitis A and tuberculosis control programs. Designs, conducts and evaluates public health programs for the prevention and control of communicable diseases, including immunization, tuberculosis, sexually transmitted diseases (STD), and HIV/AIDS.
